Summary
 
The Mechanical Engineer, under the direction of the Research and Development Manager, researches, develops, plans and designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 
  • Design, develop, test and manufacture machinery, consumer products and other equipment, under direction of other engineering and scientific staff
  • Eliminate production problems, implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions and provide technical information
  • Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions
  • Design, implement and test sources, and perform cost justification 
  • Estimate labor costs equipment life and plant space and perform process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and improved efficiency
  • Analyze indicated and calculated tests results in relation to design or rated specification and test objectives and modify or adjust equipment to meet specifications
  • Devise, fabricate and assemble new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for products, such as industrial equipment and machinery power equipment, servo systems, machine told and measuring instruments
 
Required Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • 2 years minimum professional practical mechanical engineering experience
Must be able to:
  • Carry, pull and push up to 50 pounds of dead weight
  • Climb up and down a ladder
  • Sit, stand stoop, kneel, squat, crouch and or crawl 
  • Twist or turn in confined spaces
